BMX-Race is a discipline where riders compete on a short track with obstacles like sand hills and sharp curves.
Every BMX-Race track can be set-up differently but there's always a number of similarities. These similarties form the standard for the BMX-race sport. The following standards apply for every BMX-Race track:
- The length of the track is between 250 and 350 meters
- The track is 8 meters wide
- There's a starting hill with a starting gate
- There's a maximum of 8 contestants per race
- The race is finished within 35 tot 50 seconds
- The rider that crosses the finish line first wins the race
The BMX-Race sport doesn't know any real further rules than the standards mentioned above. The equipment of a BMX-Race rider consists of cycling pants, long sleeved cycling shirt, helmet and cycling gloves.
